Yesterday I had a long day, waking up at 5.30 am and going to bed at 1 am. Today I was up at 6.30 am and renewed my fitness goal which is to briskwalk for at least half an hour
While soaking the sun and the breeze and the chirping of the birds, I remembered and recited Allah’s beautiful names such as The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful, The Eternal, The Holy and more and recited the script for the day “Health, Wealth, Peace”. Remembrance of God gives me the energy and focus in my walk somehow.
My friend and I made a pact to put this daily walk into our routine for the next 21 days until it becomes a habit for life. We also plan to walk longer on weekends and public holidays at the beautiful parks that grace Singapore such as Botanic Garden and Gardens By the Bay. We will also turn up the music and dance under the skies and end our outings with a healthy picnic. This is our commitment to fitness and fun. Our family and friends are welcomed to join.
2020 has started on a beautiful footing for me and I am determined to achieve the goals I have set at the cusp of the new year. Still, I take it one day at a time and measure my success daily.
Today, I did my morning walk, the laundry, wiped and mopped and most importantly kept my mum company to give a listening ear. My two kids and my dad are with me at home and I am happy. Mak cooked my favourite Malay dish, soto ayam. So sedappp!
Life is good with simple pleasures like a good afternoon nap (I caught myself snoring a few times) and reading a few pages of my encyclopedia of our Prophet Muhammad”s (may peace be upon him) beautiful and exemplary character and a long telephone conversation with my good friend. We made a lot of plans today and set our dreams.
Beauty as they say is in the eyes of the beholder. Behold your beautiful life as it unfolds before you. Embrace the pain too as nectar for the soul. All will be well with the right intentions.
Good night my friends.
